Introduction.
-------------
Sinusoidal+Residual analysis/synthesis models have been developed for
music applications here at Ircam. They have been very successful and
are already found in commercial and experimental tools used by musicians
as well as researchers. At the moment though there are several models
running here each with different advantages over the others and it is
desirable that there be an established standard version. However, the
existing standard version of the model suffers from limitations in
various
cases.
In the course of this placement we will implement some improvements of
the
standard model with the aim of overcoming these difficulties. We will
then
compare these different analysis techniques with the aim of creating the
best possible model.
