| Résumé | The work presented here aims at overcoming some of the weaknesses of the 5.1 standard in terms of stability and precision of lateral sources. The approach consists in introducing an extra spatialization layer based on binaural/transaural processing, combined with the traditional layers, which rely on power-law panning and/or a multichannel microphone array. The architecture of the panner, some methods of use, as well as possible applications, are introduced and discussed. |
